I was giddy with excitement over the fact that Our Mother managed to make it around the sun once again while providing sustenance to all of us parasites. To celebrate the occasion I decided to go for a cruise in my Dodge v10 pick-up.

Happy Earth Day everyone!:)

I detect a bit of sarcasm, Steve. Apparrantly you do not understand how much better-off "Our Mother" would be if us evil, parasite humans would leave. But seriously, since I do not have a Dodge v10 pick-up I did the best I could. I went for a cruise in our Flex Fuel Impalla---right after I filled the tank with regular unleaded!

I enjoyed the day appreciating the new spring green. I filled my lungs with fresh air and gave thanks (that I wasn't anywhere near the v10 or regular unleaded exhaust while deep breathing). Love and respect your mother boys! :) I am continuously amazed by the beauty I regularly see on this planet I call home, and I feel sad for those that miss it.

Earth Day is a week from today. This article suggesting what it is really all about (or should be what it's all about) seems timely.

I say, as I have been saying over an extended period, do what you can as an individual to keep our air, lands, and water clean and clear. Those are things we, as individuals, have some control over.

On the other hand I do not believe humans can control climate to any noticible extent. So forget about human caused global warming---it's more political than enviromental---and let nature handle it.

Every once in a while 'Ol Joe comes-up with a column that brings a smile to my face. Even though the underlying issue is serious, this is one of them.

Earth Day 2010 has arrived and the internet is replete with articles on the topic. Some writers claim the Earth is in crisis, others are express sarcasm.

To each his/her own. In my own insignificant way I consider myself an enviromentalist, but am skeptical of those who carry it, like anything, to excess. In that regard, I enjoyed Robert H. Nelson's editorial in today's Detroit News titled: "Enviromentalism is now a religion, and being overtaken by extremeism".

I do not have anything special planned to celebrate Earth Day or Lenin's birthday, which coincidently falls on the same day.
