Sometimes a golfer will end up playing from the wrong fairway when he drives into a tree, and occasionally things become so errant that you might be putting on the wrong green and not even realize it. But when you drive into a tree and a fire hydrant because you've been putting on the wrong green (a green that's not even PGA approved, mind you), well that's down right humiliating. You might even encounter some head high twigs in the process and scratch your cheek. Where to turn for advice when you've been hitting the forbidden links. Odd as it may sound, perhaps a late night talk show host might prove to be the best coach of all. Be humble. Come clean with the gallery. Admit that you were not only putting on the wrong green, but that you knew you were all along. Allow your devoted fans to suffer the pain of that particular bogey with you, and then return to the PGA sanctioned course, and make another valiant attempt at a legitimate par or birdie. And while you may not need so much work with the driver as you do as a driver, you may still be able to manage not to lose your driving ticket, errr PGA ticket and just pay a small fine in the process.;)
